Dr. Kathy Robinson is an Associate Professor in the Counseling and Human Services Department at the College of Professional Advancement. She is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia and also holds a Georgia School Counselor certificate for grades P-12. In addition to teaching, Dr. Robinson is a practicing mental health clinician in the Atlanta area with more than 9 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in resolving a range of developmental, behavioral, social, crisis, and educational challenges.
Dr. Robinson’s primary research focus is on suicidology. She is the faculty advisor for the Reach Out Speak Out initiative on the Mercer Atlanta campus. Reach Out Speak Out is dedicated to providing a culturally relevant action agenda and support for students, faculty, and administration that encompasses awareness and consciousness-raising, education, research, training, and academic initiatives to reduce stigma and prevent suicide at Mercer University. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Licensed Professional Counseling Association of Georgia.
