Dr. Williams, visiting assistant professor of counseling, received the Ph.D. degree in counselor education and supervision and the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University and the B.S. in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Williams holds a certificate of sports counseling and student Athlete Mental Wellness from California University of Pennsylvania.
Licensure
He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor in Georgia and National Certified Counselor.
Research and professional interests
Dr. Williams’ research interests include student athlete mental wellness; diversity, equity, and inclusion; championship team building; mindfulness stress management; sports counseling; addiction and substance abuse. He has presented at the Fifth Annual Black Student Athlete Summit, for the Uganda Counseling Association, and at the Mercer Center for the Study of Narrative Showcase, among other professional events.
Memberships
He is a member of the anti-racism and social justice committee of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association and Georgia Tech Letter Winners Club. Dr. Williams serves as a Student Support Specialist for the DeKalb County, Georgia School District.
