Courses taught

Since joining Mercer University in 2003, Dr. Andrea Leslie Winkler has taught a wide range of courses both in person and online, including Liberal Studies core courses, courses on medieval Christianity, on late medieval Books of Hours, and on the Harlem Renaissance.

Research and professional interests

Dr. Winkler’s specialty is late medieval religious history, particularly that of the Mendicant Orders, and her research has centered on the use of exempla in creating the norms and practices of the early Dominican Order. Other interests include women and gender, and early literacy. Dr. Winkler has had articles published in several proceedings and journals.
