Dr. Gong’s passion lies in teaching. While pursuing her Ph.D. degree at Clemson University, she had the opportunity to teach undergraduate and graduate students and co-advised them with their research for more than ten consecutive semesters.

She encouraged a flexible and interactive class atmosphere through welcoming students to ask questions, to participate in group discussions and in-class presentations, and to take part in group activities. To stimulate students’ potential, she motivated them to consider different methods of solving one single problem using different software. In addition, the class notes were designed using simple examples of real life to explain abstract mathematical concepts to accommodate diverse student needs. Her graduate work at Clemson contributed heavily in shaping her strong background in many different areas of math.
