Dr. Gail Johnson has devoted more than 25 years to serving adult learners in higher education. She has served in various leadership roles involving assessing and addressing the needs of adult learners. She has made several presentations at national conferences focused on improving the learning experience and academic persistence and success of nontraditional students.
Her recent interests include redesigning courses to blend online and face-to-face learning to improve the engagement and learning experience of students and designing flexible delivery formats to provide better access to education to a broader student audience.
Dr. Johnson is an active member of several professional organizations including the Association of Continuing Higher Education (ACHE), University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), American Association for Adult and Continuing Higher Education (AACHE), National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), American Association of University Women (AAUW), and International Leadership Association (ILA).
Courses taught
Dr. Johnson teaches online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses in leadership, budgeting, and research methods at various University locations.
Research and professional interests
Her academic interests include adult learning theory, learner-centered practices, budgeting and planning, performance evaluation and improvement, and data driven decision making.
