Dr. Biggers has served as a faculty member, advisor, and administrator in various academic institutions for over 50 years. He has had an extensive research career and has published more than 20 articles. Dr. Biggers initially came to Mercer in 1991 as an administrator. While fulfilling these duties, Dr. Biggers still taught every semester.
Dr. Biggers returned to Mercer University as a faculty member in 2003. He served as coordinator of the Communication program for 16 years. In that time, he was part of major curriculum revisions.
Dr. Biggers is also a member of the department of Liberal Studies in the College of Professional Advancement. He has advised many students as they transition into Liberal Studies from other degree programs.

Recent publications
He has been published numerous times in refereed journals. He has 21 articles in academic journals, 29 referred convention presentations, and numerous panel presentation at national conferences. He has written extensively about American academic debate, and his work has been selected for inclusion in several textbooks.
