Dr. Laurie Lankin worked at Mercer University for more than 30 years, including over 13 as a faculty member in the College of Professional Advancement. She came to Mercer as a licensed professional counselor and became the director of the counseling center on the Macon Campus. She became the coordinator of the Human Resources Administration and Development major in 2009 when the program opened.
Prior to coming to Mercer in 1988, Dr. Lankin worked as a newspaper reporter, substance abuse counselor, human resources professional in a city government and had a private counseling practice. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and her M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. She has served on multiple university-wide and college-wide committees, including serving as the chair of the executive committee of the College of Professional Advancement twice.
