Dr. S M Shafiul Hasan holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Florida International University, alongside an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Prior to his current role at Mercer University, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University, where he developed innovative machine learning models to enhance healthcare diagnostics and patient care, particularly in the realm of stroke recovery.

With expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, biomedical signal processing, and health informatics, Dr. Hasan’s research addresses the challenges of interpreting complex biomedical data. His work integrates advanced computational methods with practical healthcare applications, aiming to transform patient care through technology. He has published 15 peer-reviewed articles and actively engages in the academic development of his field through research and dedicated mentorship of students in classroom and research settings.

Affiliated with IEEE, Dr. Hasan works to influence the fields of electrical and computer engineering and health informatics through his scholarly work and professional service.
