The Department of Counseling within the College of Professional Advancement utilizes three advisory boards for the following programs: M.S. in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, M.S. in School Counseling, and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
The advisory boards are based on the belief in shared leadership. Each advisory board provides review, feedback, or modification and clarification on program outcomes, standards, and annual reports. Additionally, the advisory boards assist with connecting the community with each program and providing relevant course content to meet its needs.
Advisory board members have an interest in and a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding a specific area of counseling. The College’s advisory boards meet in the fall and spring semesters each year. Each advisory board is governed by its bylaws where individuals are appointed by the College’s dean to serve for a maximum of three years. See individuals serving on each advisory board below.
