Distance Learning

The Office of Distance Learning (ODL), a unit of the Dean's Office in the College of Professional Advancement was established based on the following goals:

  • Expansion of the College's online presence
  • Increased student success in online and hybrid classes and programs as measured by DFW rates and student retention
  • Increased faculty capacity for exemplary and innovative distance learning education
  • Scholarship (publications) related to exemplary distance teaching and learning

The ODL sponsors four faculty fellows each year for the Distance Learning Fellowship program, which includes professional development workshops, technology training, and instructional design workshops focused on online and mobile course design. The ODL provides support, training, and professional development for all full-time and adjunct instructors who teach online and distance learning courses for the College of Professional Advancement.
